Privacy Policy
Effective July 30, 2026
JobMatrix, Inc. ("JobMatrix," "we," "us," or "our") operates jobmatrix.dev (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you sign up directly, or your name and email as provided by Google or GitHub if you sign in with OAuth.
- Resume and profile data: the resume file you upload (PDF/DOCX) and the skills, work experience, education, and years of experience we parse from it, plus any job preferences you set (target roles, locations, salary expectations).
- Usage data: jobs you view, save, or apply to, and basic application-tracking status you record in the Service.
- Authentication data: a session token stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in.
- Analytics data: pages you visit, general location (country/region), device and browser type, and key actions like signing up, logging in, or applying to a job, collected via Google Analytics to help us understand how the Service is used. This is not linked to your resume or profile content.
2. How we use your information
- To match your profile against job postings and score how well each one fits you.
- To operate your account, including authentication and session management.
- To let you track applications you've submitted and their status.
- To respond to support requests sent to us.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Service.
- To understand overall traffic and usage trends via analytics, so we can improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
We share information only in these limited circumstances: with Google or GitHub when you choose to sign in with those providers (they receive only what's needed to authenticate you); with Google Analytics for the aggregate usage data described above; with infrastructure providers (such as our cloud hosting and database provider) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations; or if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of JobMatrix or our users.
4. Data retention and deletion
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your resume, update your profile, or request full account deletion at any time by contacting support@jobmatrix.dev. We will delete your personal data within a reasonable time after a verified deletion request, except where we're required to retain certain records by law.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@jobmatrix.dev.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
